Dear Parents/Guardians,

I would like to take this opportunity to re-introduce myself. My name is Ms. Vanessa Arellano and I am honored to be your child’s 5th grade teacher for the 2016-2017 school year. I earned my Mild/Moderate Education Specialist Credential from California State University, Los Angeles.  I am currently working on my Master’s degree in Special Education.  I am authorized to teach students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and provide instruction for English Language Learners (ELL).  For the past six years, I have worked with a variety of students receiving special education services and English Language Development instruction.

I am looking forward to working with you and your child in reaching his/ her full potential; specifically, his/her Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals. I believe that communication is the key to a great parent-teacher relationship. I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns at any time. You can e-mail me at or call me at 626-338-4013 ext. 6767. I will contact you by phone, send a note home, or email you (if an email address is provided) for individual concerns.
