Welcome Back!

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I am excited to have your child in my class this year! This year I will be teaching a 5/6 combination classroom. This will be my fifth time I have taught such a classroom so I have the experience and knowledge to make each child successful in such an environment. I look forward to making this year fun, making them work hard, providing a classroom where they can form lasting friendships, while building their confidence. I am thankful for your support and your investment in your child’s education.

This is my 18th year teaching in the Baldwin Park Unified School District and my 18th year here at Margaret Heath Elementary. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from UCLA, my teaching certification from Cal Poly Pomona, and my Master’s degree from Cal Poly Pomona.  As a former student of BPUSD, I am happy and honored to be teaching in Baldwin Park and being a part of this community!

My teaching philosophy is to make learning fun, provide students with opportunities to show their strengths while making them laugh and showing them that school can be fun.  All I ask in return is for each student to do their part and each parent to support and promote a love for learning and respect for everyone. I hold my students to high expectations, accepts challenge, be able to do the hard work, but know that we are going to work as a team and achieve great things.

It is very important to me to have good communication with my students and their parents/guardians. Please feel free to contact me by phone, email or stop by to address any issues that may arise as we begin this new journey together. You may also write a note on any questions or concerns you may have that your child can hand to me in the mornings.

I look forward to working with you this year.
